Men's Denim Overalls
Dublin Core
Title
Men's Denim Overalls
Description
Construction workers at the dam were easily identifiable through their workwear. Known at the time as coveralls, these carpenter-style overalls had useful features, including four front pockets, engraved brass hardware, hammer loops, and a Hercules brand label. The Hercules brand was manufactured and sold by Sears, Roebuck, and Co. in the early twentieth century and was widely known for its quality work clothes. It notes that Sears distributed its catalog to many area residents. Some may have got this catalog, but it was due to Boulder City Co. Store by Six companies, where they purchased these overalls and other items for work during the construction.
