Manual Egg Beater

Dublin Core

Title

Manual Egg Beater

Description

Although the first hand-operated egg beaters have been around since the mid-1800s, it was not until many years later that they morphed into this more recognizable design. The Maynard Manufacturing Company, based in Glendale, California, began producing whisks such as these in the 1950s based on a 1923 patent. This appliance includes pastel yellow plastic handles and stainless-steel whisks. Before the prevalence of electric kitchen tools, a manual egg-beater like this was a labor-saving kitchen appliance.
