Title
Cable Desk Acccessory
Description
In their spare time, construction workers at the Hoover Dam made makeshift objects from leftover materials or metal scraps found near the worksite. This hand-crafted, decorative accessory features a series of stacked cables arranged into the shape of a tower. The bare metal plaque attached to the base suggests the article is incomplete. Workers took scraps from the construction site to their homes. They also crafted more necessary items, such as silverware and lamps, because many did not bring their belongings when they moved to the area.
