Description

Surveying is the science of determining the relative positions of objects or points on the Earth's surface. This copy of Pence and Ketchum's 1932 edition of Surveying Manual belonged to civil engineer and longtime Boulder City resident Harry C. Hall. During the early 1900s, Surveying Manual became an essential text for students in the field because it included information about basic surveying methods and general instructions. Texts such as this also provided invaluable knowledge for the Dam's engineers to resolve technical issues they encountered.
